Dato’ Ahmad Redza is a distinguished legal professional with over 30 years of experience in civil, commercial, and corporate litigation. He began his career at Messrs. Shook Lin & Bok, where he gained invaluable exposure to high-profile constitutional and political cases under the mentorship of Dato’ Dr. Cyrus Das. At just 29, he became the Head of Litigation at Messrs. NK Tan & Rahim, showcasing his legal acumen in banking and commercial disputes.
He later co-founded Messrs. Shahrizat & Tan, which grew into Messrs. Shahrizat Rashid & Lee (SRL) after a merger, where he was appointed as Deputy Managing Partner and Head of Litigation.
Throughout his career, he played a pivotal role in advising major government agencies, handling landmark election disputes, and shaping media and cyber law jurisprudence in Malaysia.
Beyond his legal career, Dato’ Ahmad Redza made significant strides in the corporate world. He was appointed Group Managing Director and CEO of Sarawak Cable Berhad, a public-listed company, where he successfully restructured the group and oversaw large-scale infrastructure projects, including power transmission and hydroelectric developments in Indonesia.
His leadership extended to various subsidiaries, making a substantial impact on Malaysia’s power and tele-communications sectors. Additionally, as Chairman of Ecotint (M) Sdn Bhd, he contributed his expertise to one of Malaysia’s leading tinting companies, serving major automotive brands like Toyota, Honda, and Audi.
Returning to legal practice in 2022, Dato’ Ahmad Redza now leads Messrs. Redza Eleena Chong (REC Legal) as Managing Partner. Under his leadership, the firm continues to handle complex litigation and arbitration matters, including significant cases involving construction disputes and corporate litigation.
His extensive experience in both law and business enable him to provide strategic legal solutions to clients across various industries, cementing his reputation as a leading legal practitioner in Malaysia.
